John Masterson

John spent his childhood listening to his concert-pianist mother practice six hours a day and learning to play the French horn. He fell in love with rock ‘n roll in the 1950s, bought his first electric guitar with paper-route money in 1959 and taught himself to play listening to the radio and records.  He played in various bands throughout high school and college, then around campfires, in kitchens and garages, and eventually as lead guitarist in The Harleys (Seguin, TX) from 2000 until 2012.  John is retired from an academic career in which he served as professor, dean, provost, and senior vice chancellor at The University of Miami, Texas Lutheran University and The University of South Carolina Upstate.

Danielle Grove

Danielle started vocal training when she joined her school choir in fifth grade.  She attributes her love of singing harmony to her many years as an alto in school and church choirs.  She has been singing in church praise bands for a decade where her vocal talents have expanded to learning music and harmonies by ear.  She has recently begun to sing lead on some songs.  When she isn’t singing, she can be found with her family and friends or with her work in the Department of Biology at Texas Lutheran University.
